A Message from Our Co-Chairs

Aloha,

We are excited to invite you to join us for the annual Residential Youth Services & Empowerment (RYSE) fundraiser on October 18, 2024, at 5:30 PM, held at the IBM Building at Ward Village. This year, our theme is Poetry in Motion, reflecting our commitment to support and uplift Oahu’s youth experiencing homelessness. This event aims to raise crucial funds to support young individuals who have faced significant challenges, 47% of whom are Native Hawaiians.

2023 Achievements:

  • Provided 21,681 nights of safe sleep for homeless youth aged 18-24
  • Interacted with 444 unduplicated youth living unsheltered
  • 1,864 encounters supporting youth towards their education & employment goals.
  • Participated in 105 court hearings to advocate for youth
  • Conducted 2,716 one-on-one client meetings to advance behavioral health counseling and care coordination

Despite our progress, our work is not done. The 2024 Point in Time Count shows that 217 youth are still experiencing homelessness on Oahu. We invite you to support our mission by sponsoring a table at our upcoming event. Your sponsorship will directly contribute to providing safe havens, essential services, and life-changing opportunities for these vulnerable young people.

This evening will be a chance to support a worthy cause and experience the transformative power of poetry and art, celebrating the resilience and potential of the youth we serve. We are planning an inspiring program that promises to be both moving and motivating.

Together, we can make a significant impact. Together, we all RYSE.

Mahalo for considering our request. We look forward to your positive response and to seeing you at the event.

Warm regards,

Lauran & Bunny Bromley

We can end youth homelessness.

Residential Youth Support & Empowerment (RYSE) is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 that services opportunity youth in Hawaii, through empowerment and personalized support. Youth, ages 14-24, are welcome for drop-in services from 8am – 8pm at the access center, seven days a week, and have access to safe and temporary living spaces specifically designed to address their unique needs.

Beyond shelter, RYSE offers a comprehensive range of services, including counseling and mentoring, education and life skills training, and case management and advocacy. RYSE is dedicated to helping youth overcome challenges, build resilience and achieve their full potential.

As a 501(c)3, we rely on the generous support of individuals, organizations, businesses, and grants to fund our programs. We are committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that every donation we receive is maximized for impact.

Together, we are dedicated to empowering youth, building futures and creating positive change. We envision a community where there is no youth homelessness. For more information, visit rysehawaii.org
