RYSE Partners With Fund A Future

We are excited to announce a new partnership with non-profit organization Fund A Future, dedicated to assisting underprivileged children in order to improve their living conditions, health, and education. Fund A Future serves youth across the globe from the Philippines, Hawaii, and Zimbabwe. FAF is a small grass-roots effort, and all operating costs and logistical fees are covered through generous donations from the directors. This means that 100% of donations make it to the children they are intended for.

Fund A Future also hosts Surfrider Spirit Sessions, providing holistic, ocean-based experiential education and mentoring programs and activities that connect, enhance, and fill in the gaps within existing nonprofit programs serving at-risk and adjudicated youth by teaching ocean awareness, environmental sensitivity and Hawaiian culture to youth. Mahalo nui!

A Place to Belong, A Future to Build

A place to land can change everything. For youth experiencing housing insecurity in Waianae or transitioning out of the foster system, that place is taking shape through RYSE (Residential Youth Services & Empowerment).

On The Run And Undercounted, Homeless Youth Try Hard To Stay Out of Sight

By official counts, just a handful of homeless teens live on the streets of Hawaiʻi. Those who try to help them suggest that’s all wrong, that there are many more — perhaps 150 doing their best not to be counted.

They hide in tents at beach parks. On a friend or stranger’s couch. Far back in the valleys that stretch out of towns.
